Applying for Admission


We welcome your application. Throughout the process, your admissions counselor will be glad to answer questions about applying in general and your application in particular.

You’ll need to make three simple decisions:  which application format to use, to which campus to apply, and when to submit your application. Read more about applying for financial aid...

1. Choose your format

□ Apply online.
□ Print out and submit a paper application.

To apply online, use The Common Application and St. John’s Supplement.
If you prefer to submit your application in hardcopy form, you can either:

         a. Print out The Common Application form and St. John’s Supplement; or
         b. Print out the St. John’s College Application for Admission.

There is no application fee.

2. Choose your campus

□ Annapolis, Maryland
□ Santa Fe, New Mexico

St. John’s College is one college on two campuses.  Your campus choice is a win-win proposition, since both Annapolis and Santa Fe are wonderful places to be, and it may be that you have not decided which campus you prefer for your freshman year by the time you’re ready to submit your application.

You may, however, apply only to one campus, so you’ll need to select one or the other to receive your application.  If you have decided on a campus, please apply to that campus;  if not, pick one or the other and don’t worry about it, because admission to one campus constitutes admission to the college as a whole.  All approved applicants may change their campus preference up until the time they submit enrollment deposits.

3. Choose your timing

Early Action acceptances are unrestricted and non-binding.  All accepted applicants have until May 1 to make enrollment decision

□January Admission (Santa Fe campus only)

Applications for entrance in January, at the beginning of the spring semester, will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and decisions will be returned within 2-3 weeks.
