Summer Academy 2013
Santa Fe

Campus

Summer Academy students will have full access to campus amenities such as the Student Activities Center, the Meem Library, and computer lab. More information about campus services and facilities can be found at: SJC Conference Services . Detailed information that is tailored specifically to the Summer Academy students will be provided upon acceptance into the program.

City

With 69,000 inhabitants, Santa Fe is a town steeped in history and culture, both of which Academy students will have the chance to experience. Parents who choose to vacation here will find that Santa Fe offers big-city amenities – world-class hotels, restaurants, opera, and museums as well as a vibrant art market -- and clear air and natural beauty.

Four mountain ranges can be seen from the Santa Fe campus; with one of these ranges adjacent to our 250 acre campus, hiking trails that lead directly into the national forest are literally steps away.  Many of our dorms and classroom buildings have balconies that offer scenic, panoramic views. While the summer days are warm, our high altitude (St. John’s sits at 7,300 feet) ensures pleasantly cool evenings.

Guided trips during the Summer Academy will explore our striking landscape as well as expose students to the opera, and Native American and Hispanic history.

Travel Information

Though Santa Fe has a small airport – the Santa Fe Municipal Airport -- most visitors find it more convenient to fly into Albuquerque’s International Sunport. From the airport in Albuquerque, Santa Fe can be reached by train, shuttle or car. For more information on transportation, entertainment and accommodations, see: Visitor Information.

Transportation from the airport to campus will be provided free of charge for students traveling alone.
